Gallery & Studio
The Stephen Walker Gallery is located in picturesque rural Tasmania, the island state of Australia. In 1972 Stephen established his working foundry at Campania in the Coal River Valley. This foundry was to act as the primary modelling and casting location for the next 42 years.
The establishment of the studio foundry at Campania marked the culmination of Stephen’s pioneering working in utilising electro-voltaic heating for “lost wax” bronze casting. This innovative approach proved to be an economic and environmentally positive solution to the high-energy demanding tasking of lost wax voiding.
Visits to the gallery and extensive surrounding gardens can be arranged by appointment with Stephen’s wife, Elizabeth. To make an appointment, please use the contact page.
